Connecticut 24, Pittsburgh 17 -- Final

This game was not nearly as close as the score indicated. The Connecticut Huskies led this game from start to finish and held on for a seven-point victory.

Huskies running back Lyle McCombs had his best game of the season, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries.

Tight end Ryan Griffin also had an excellent game, doing all his damage in the first half. He caught six passes for 84 yards and a score.

Pittsburgh struggled to do much on offense until the fourth quarter, due to the inefficiencies of the offensive line during the early part of the game.

The loss dropped the Panthers to 4-6 overall and 1-4 in Big East play. Connecticut on the other hand got its first conference win of the season, moving its record to 4-6 and 1-4 in league play.
