When Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel were traded for only a second round pick this left people scratching their heads in awe. Why trade him for so little? Why include Mike Vrabel?

Well, here is the answer. Bill Belichick is truly a genius.

ESPN reported that the Patriot's and the Panthers have been in discussion about trading the second round pick (34th overall) to the Panthers for Julius Peppers who is one of the league's most dominating DE.

Could it happen as soon as next week? Maybe.

This is great news because it would bring in leadership, skill, and some youth into the Patriots aging defense.

Both teams reportedly want to get the deal done by next week.
