The Thursday, Nov. 8 edition of TNA Impact! Wrestling begins with a video package recapping last week’s events.
James Storm opens the show by coming out to the entrance way and joining the broadcast team to help call the first match of the night.
Match No. 1: AJ Styles vs. Bobby Roode
Your winner via pinfall: Bobby Roode. An excellent opening match that had great chemistry between Roode and Styles. This was also a nice feature to hype the three-way match between Roode, Styles and Storm at the Turning Point pay-per-view.
Match Rating: 4/5
In the ring, Joseph Park takes the microphone and begins to remember how it felt to stand up to Aces and Eights. Park asks Hulk Hogan to grant him a match. Hogan’s music plays as Hulk makes his way to the ring. Hogan tells Park that TNA is so proud of him on how he has stood up to Aces and Eights.
However, Hogan tells Park he does not want to put TNA at risk. Suddenly, Bully Ray storms to the ring and quickly defends Park. After thinking about what Ray says in the ring, Hogan shakes Park’s hand and allows him to wrestle against Aces and Eights at Turning Point.
Match No. 2: ODB vs. Tara and Jesse
Your winner via pinfall: ODB.
After the match, Tara delivers a Widow’s peak to ODB. A weak followup after a strong first match to Impact! Wrestling.
Match Rating: 1.5/5
Backstage, Tazz, Bruce Prichard and Al Snow discuss Christian York’s chances on making the TNA roster.
Match No. 3: Kurt Angle and Sting vs. Devon and Doc
Your winners via disqualification: Kurt Angle and Sting.
After the bell sounds calling for the disqualification, Ray rushes to the ring to make the save. Sting attempts a power bomb on Doc, but a member of Aces and Eights hits him with a hammer in the back. Doc goes ahead and choke slams Sting through a table. The assault doesn't stop there, as Doc hits Sting with the hammer several times before Chavo Guerrero, Hernandez and Samoa Joe chase them off. The EMT crew arrive to the ring and help Sting walk backstage.
Match Rating: 3/5
Impact! Wrestling returns after a commercial break with TNA announcer Mike Tenay providing the latest on Sting’s condition.
Jeremy Borash, along with Tazz, Prichard and Snow are in the ring. Borash introduces Christian York to the ring to find out whether he made the TNA roster. Tazz goes first and tells York he has what it takes to make it in TNA and votes yes. Prichard takes the microphone next and votes yes as well, meaning York is now the newest member on the TNA roster.
Backstage, Hogan confronts Joey Ryan and Matt Morgan in his office.
Match No. 4: Magnus, Christopher Daniels and Kazarian vs. Samoa Joe, Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez
Your winner via pinfall: Magnus, Kazarian and Christopher Daniels. A bit of a chaotic ending, but this tag team match picked up some solid steam toward the final moments. In the end, this match served its purpose to help further hype Turning Point, and it was entertaining to watch.
Match Rating: 3.5/5
Back from a commercial break, Austin Aries makes his way to the ring with Jeff Hardy’s TNA World Heavyweight title. Aries claims he is still the best wrestler in the world. He begins to praise Hardy’s career but says at Turning Point, Jeff’s success will suddenly be wiped out. Aries holds up the TNA title and says he will not hand over the belt and Hardy must come to the ring to take it. Hardy runs to the ring and begins to brawl with Aries.
Hardy takes back his belt and climbs up the ladder to celebrate with the crowd. However, Aries gets back into the ring and pushes the ladder. As Hardy is laying down in the ring, Aries takes the ladder, places it over Hardy, climbs it and poses for the crowd as Impact! Wrestling closes.
