As if getting trounced by the Indianapolis Colts wasn't bad enough, the Jacksonville Jaguars lost starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert early in the fourth quarter on Thursday night, as NFL Network's Alex Flanagan reports:
Jacksonville QB Blaine Gabbert w/ shoulder injury on non throwing arm. He missed a 1/2 a few weeks ago when he injured it against Oakland.— Alex Flanagan (@Alex_Flanagan) November 9, 2012
Gabbert was hit late by Colts linebacker Jerry Hughes on 2nd-and-10 from the Jacksonville 31-yard line but got back up. On the following play, Gabbert was hit hard again, this time by Colts safety Antoine Bethea, and he was forced from the game.
Gabbert had completed 18 of 31 passes for 209 yards and a third-quarter interception that was returned 11 yards for a touchdown by Colts cornerback Darius Butler.
Chad Henne replaced Gabbert and drove the Jaguars down the field for a touchdown, completing five of eight passes for 46 yards, including a four-yard touchdown to Cecil Shorts III.
