Hello! Welcome to another edition of Big Sports News! Today we are going in the NFL side of the story, again. There are huge topics today I’d love to discuss, so let’s get a move on. Put on your reading glasses and let’s begin!
Torry Holt
Before Holt was released by the Rams, the Tennessee Titans were going to make a trade. Well Tennessee, now there is no need for trading because you can get him without trading.
Unfortunately, Holt is on vacation so we won’t be hearing a lot anytime soon, though A lot of teams are interested.
The Titans can use him along with newly acquired Nate Washington. Holt would be a nice target for Kerry Collins. Holt might be a number one receiver for them, due to the fact that he has been playing since 1999.
The 49ers are also looking to deal for Holt as he might join Brandon Jones, Josh Morgan, and Vernon Davis. The Jaguars are also looking for Holt because their No. 1 receiver, Matt Jones, was released Monday after being arrested.
Keep an eye on those Ravens. They have a good bet on him. He would join Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton, Yamon Figurs, and Todd Heap in the passing game while being a No. 1 target for Joe Flacco.
Now how about them Colts? He can be a great replacement for Marvin Harrison.
Here is my favorite, though. The Eagles. Holt would make a great target for Donovan McNabb. Now McNabb won’t be criticised by some hated Eagles fans.
Holt will also help out Brian Westbrook and DeSean Jackson in the passing game. No doubt about it, Holt will mostly be the No. 1 target for McNabb. Holt is getting lucky after his release from the Rams.
Detroit Lions
According to Tom Kowalski of MLive.com, the Detroit Lions will not be looking to get Matthew Stafford as the first overall pick in the draft.
The Lions are going to get a tackle to help out the O-line because Daunte Culpepper or Drew Stanton might be the starter. But scratch those two out. I’ll tell you why later in this segment.
So even though the Lions might get Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe in the draft, they have to look into free agency for their next job in the offseason.
The start of the offseason started with the loss of Dan Orvolsky (pictured on the left). The Lions improved their defense, though. They traded their defensive tackle, Cory Redding, for Julian Peterson. So now it will be a one-two punch with Peterson and Ernie Sims.
Now that is just the start. It gets better! On NFL Network, I heard that Jay Cutler is selling his Denver mansion. Guess what that means? Trade. The Broncos are looking to trade Cutler for a draft pick.
Cutler and the Lions are looking for a deal, so now the Lions are bringing in a Pro Bowl quarterback. Just imagine that, Cutler to Calvin Johnson or Bryant Johnson. Better watch out defenses! You are literally looking for a one-way ticket to hell.
