BLACKSBURG — When Zack McCray was a senior at Brookville, most of the schools recruiting him were looking at him as a tight end. Virginia Tech was one of the few that saw him as a defensive player. And at the time, McCray was just fine with playing defense. His cousin, Logan Thomas, began his career as a tight end at Tech, and McCray wanted a shot at playing, so he began his Hokies’ career on the defensive line...
