For the USC Trojans, the season obviously hasn't gone as planned. They've gone from No. 1 in the preseason polls (which, of course, means very little) to a three-loss team out of the BCS picture.
After giving up more than 700 yards against Oregon at home and suffering that third defeat, USC will now have to try and salvage the 2012 season for what they can. They have the talent on offense to do so, although the schedule going forward will be far from a cake walk.
Arizona State, in a lot of ways, is very similar to USC. They don't have the talent the Trojans do on offense, but they can put up points in bunches. Much like Lane Kiffin's group, they also have major issues on the defensive side of the football.
Will USC remain motivated despite the latest loss? Will the scoreboard be functional after this one? We're about to find out.
