It's disclosure time again. If you are not a fan of spoilers, there is no need to read any further.
Especially if you are looking forward to all that the WWE has in store for Monday night's Raw.
Now that we have that out of the way, time to get down to business.
According to WrestlinInc.com:
WWE completely changed the card during tonight's RAW taping in Birmingham, England for the upcoming WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view.
The main event for the show will now feature WWE Champion CM Punk defending his title against John Cena and Ryback in a triple threat match.
Dolph Ziggler will now captain Punk's Survivor Series team to face Team Orton, formerly Team Foley. Another change was made to the teams, as The Miz dropped out of Team Punk and was replaced by Wade Barrett.
To me, this is great news as I felt that Team Punk vs. Team Foley as the main event was a bit lame, especially considering that it would have been a lock that CM Punk's WWE title would continue for yet another month. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that Punk isn't worthy of the strap, just noting the predictability of the whole thing.
Overall, the WWE seems to be pulling out all of the stops to ensure that Survivor Series is a success. This also saves the WWE from having to find a spot for John Cena. The only bad news to come from this is that it appears that Dolph Ziggler and John Cena's program will be pushed to the wayside.
In the end, the WWE needs to ensure that Survivor Series stays a marquee pay-per-view. Let's face it, we aren't too far removed from it being renamed and completely forgotten. So now it's your time to weigh in: Do you think that this was a smart move by the WWE or just another attempt to ensure that Cena closes out the event?
