Minnesota Vikings: Free Agent Signings No Longer A Goal

Mark JohnsonContributor IMarch 15, 2009

Minneapolis, MN - According to Star Tribune, the Minnesota Vikings have hung up the towel when it comes to the 2009 Free Agency.

"We're going to have to draft well. That's what our whole staff is concentrating on. Last year we were successful and got some good players in free agency. This year there wasn't as many." Said Minnesota Vikings Owner, Ziggy Wilf, "We went after T.J. [Houshmand- zadeh] pretty good. We didn't hold back on that. [But] you can't get caught up in a bidding war."

When asked about the quarterback situation in Minnesota, Wolf showed no hesitation in saying Minnesota is happy with its quarterback situation.

Needless to say, this puts a dagger in the side of those fans who had hope remaining of Minnesota acquiring Jay Cutler.
