Rockies' Todd Helton Undergoing Arthroscopic Knee Surgery

Rockies veteran first baseman Todd Helton will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Friday.
According to a major-league source, the surgery is being performed to repair a torn meniscus. The tear is a common injury to the cartilage that stabilizes and cushions the knee joint. The operation is not considered major and Helton should be able to resume working out later this month.
