Michael Laudrup's men are buoyed by their victory over Liverpool this week in the Capital One Cup, as are the Blues, who exacted some revenge on the Red Devils by clinching a thriller at Stamford Bridge.
Swansea held the Blues to a 1-1 draw last season—even though the visitors were fortunate to avoid defeat—with Scott Sinclair scoring for the Swans before a Neil Taylor own goal rescued Chelsea in injury time.
Wayne Routledge vs. Ryan Bertrand
Bertrand will deputise for the injured Ashley Cole, and Routledge will be tasked with challenging the England international—who could be a little rusty—with his willingness to take full-backs on one-on-one.
Both players are very quick and it should make for an entertaining battle, especially as Laudrup and Roberto Di Matteo will set their teams up to play an open game.
Ben Davies vs. Eden Hazard
Davies has deputised for the injured Neil Taylor superbly in recent weeks, but this represents his greatest challenge yet.
The Belgian is in sparkling form and his pace and trickery will pose a real handful for the Welsh full-back, who will need to be disciplined throughout.
If Davies can push Hazard back and prevent the former Lille star from beating him on the outside, Swansea will have a chance at nullifying the best attack in the league.
