Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker dug deep for their Halloween costumes and came up with John and Lorena Bobbit swag.

Yes, from the early 90s.

They may be a sports power couple, but they aren't the most topical when it comes to comedic timing. We will forgive them this time because the costumes were still fairly funny.

A tip of the hat to Larry Brown Sports who spotted an image of the retired tennis star with his model wife as the Bobbits.

Here is the tweet from Decker.

I guess if you are thinking about heading out to parties dressed as the Fresh Prince and Carlton, we can excuse some rather outdated humor in this case.

For those unfamiliar with Lorena Bobbit, she famously severed her husband's penis back in 1993, a scandal that went viral far before memes and Twitter.

We send daps out their way for committing to the characters and bringing along something—we don't want to know what—in a Ziploc bag.

However, we knock the couple points because this funny ensemble would have been hilarious not one, but nearly two decades ago.

So close.
