As we inch closer to the NFL draft, the college football conference debate heats up. To many, the NFL is the ultimate barometer of college football's strengths.
So, which conference can claim superiority? There are many ways to slice this argument. We decided to analyze the NFL first-round draft picks over the past ten years, as it's a pretty good indicator of the perceived top talent in college football.
What follows is a ranking of each BCS conference by the number of first-round NFL draft picks.
It is no surprise that the SEC heads the list. The biggest surprise is the last-place conference: The Big 12.
And it is not even close.
