College Football Week 10 Predictions: Oregon Ducks vs. USC Trojans

0 of 4

Scoring at least 30 points is the key for the Oregon Ducks on Saturday night as they travel to take on the USC Trojans in a Pac-12 Conference matchup, with the opening kickoff from the Los Angeles Coliseum scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on FOX.

The Ducks have risen to eight-point road favorites in the Week 10 college football betting odds (courtesy of SBR Forum), while the total has held steady at 70 in the market.

Head coach Chip Kelly has compiled a dominating 40-2 record during his time at Oregon when the offense scores 30-plus points, which is certainly possible when this juggernaut has put up at least 42 on the scoreboard in its last 11 contests.

Let's take a closer look at this high-profile affair from a betting perspective while offering a prediction on a team total along the way.

Oregon Ducks

1 of 4

The Oregon Ducks will be seeking revenge from last year's 38-35 loss to the USC Trojans as 16.5-point home favorites, while the OVER has cashed in the last three meetings in this series.

Chip Kelly has yet to see his team play a full 60 minutes this season, which is a scary thought, especially since the Ducks have won 12 consecutive road games.

The program has won three of five meetings in this series since he joined the coaching staff in 2007.

USC Trojans

2 of 4

The USC Trojans had their four-game winning streak snapped in last week's 39-36 setback to the Arizona Wildcats as 5.5-point road favorites, which will be difficult for this team to bounce back from.

Quarterback Matt Barkley was focused solely on trying to win a national title in electing not to enter the 2012 NFL draft, but that dream is all gone at this point.

The Trojans are 2-7 in this series when entering as the lower-ranked team, including an 0-2 mark in Los Angeles.

Las Vegas Perspective

I reached out to Jimmy Vaccaro earlier this week about this high-profile affair. He serves as the public relations director for William Hill US, and here's what he had to say:

In July, USC was a 3-point favorite. In November, Oregon a 7-point favorite. Adjustment is on the money, but USC has motivation to ruin Oregon's season, and seven points is way too many.

I'm going to recommend that readers play a proposition wager in this affair, as I expect the Oregon Ducks to score at least 40 points against the USC Trojans on Saturday.
