The Cleveland Cavaliers got their season started on the right foot with a 94-84 win over the Washington Wizards.

Byron Scott's squad actually led by 16 at one point midway through the third quarter before the Wizards, thanks to an inspired bench effort led by none other than Jannero Pargo, took the 76-74 lead with just over eight minutes to go.

After some back-and-forth action, an Alonzo Gee basket with four-and-a-half minutes left gave the Cavs the 82-80 lead, and they never looked back.

Player of the Game: Anderson Varejao

Kyrie deserves co-honors here as he downright unstoppable with 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting with three three-pointers made, six rebounds, three assists and a steal.

But I couldn't not list Varejao here. The wily Brazilian made easy work of a depleted Washington frontcourt, racking up nine points, nine assists, two blocks and—wait for it—23 rebounds.

Yikes.
