Ivy League Football: Previewing the Match-Ups of Week 8
While Week 8 promises as many surprises as Week 7 had in store, look towards the Penn versus Princeton matchup as another indicator of who might end up with that conference trophy at the end of the season.
Here are Week 8 previews.
Yale (2-5, 1-3) vs. Brown (4-3, 1-3), Saturday 12:30 ET
Brown finally has an opportunity to turn things around against a much weaker opponent. If the Bears can keep Tyler Varga in check, this game should be a walk in the park for them as they look past this game as an attempt to finish conference play at 4-3.
Dartmouth (4-3, 2-2) vs. Cornell (4-3, 2-2), Saturday 12:30 ET
The Big Red will look to the air again as they attempt to take on the other big color team, the Big Green. Dartmouth is increasingly utilizing the pass in their playbooks, which should provide quite a shootout between the two squads.
Penn (3-4, 3-1) vs. Princeton (4-3, 3-1), Saturday 1:00 ET
This has the making of the quite the telling game as far as the Ivy League title is concerned. Princeton plays incredibly well in front of their home crowd (just ask Harvard), but Penn will definitely not go down easy as their title intentions have become clear over the past few weeks.
Columbia (2-5, 1-3) vs. Harvard (6-1, 3-1), Saturday 1:00 ET
Unfortunately for Columbia, this does seem like a very one-sided affair. The Crimson, one of the most consistent squads in the conference, should come out hungry early as this game will get relatively ugly relatively quickly. But the Lions can still make a game out of it.
