The replacement ref costume is ubiquitous this Halloween, but it becomes something far more special when the man wearing it is an actual NFL player.
Demaryius Thomas threw caution to the wind and decided to don a costume that every NFL fan can appreciate.
Larry Brown Sports spotted this hilarious photo they found through a tweet from Fox Sports Radio's Peter Burns.

If you are going to poke great fun at the worst aspect of the current season, you don't want to post the joke on your official page, no matter how funny it is.
As we all know, Thomas' employer and provider for great fun for us fans (the NFL) suffered through a league officials lockout earlier in the season.
What took place was absolute bedlam in the form of a bumbling referee mess.
Thankfully, we are back to life as usual, whining about the actual referees making calls we don't agree with, far removed from the replacement debacle.
This is that one rare Halloween when an NFL player dressed up as a ref is perfectly acceptable and quite welcome.
