WWE HIAC 2012: Possible Directions of Big Show's WHC Win

Chris FeatherstoneFeatured ColumnistOctober 29, 2012

In one of the most surprising moments of the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View, the Big Show defeated Sheamus to win his second World Heavyweight Championship. This ends Sheamus' 210 day reign, falling short of breaking Batista and Triple H's top two reigns of 282 and 280, respectively.

The Big Show seemed to simply be a spot-filler for Sheamus to eventually move on to a feud with either Dolph Ziggler or Wade Barrett. However, the Big Show had other plans and now the potential World Heavyweight Championship feuds have been recalculated.

Although Sheamus was a good choice to keep champion for seven months, many people wanted to see Dolph Ziggler become champion. He made a false claim of cashing the briefcase in at HIAC, and it would seem like we will have to wait even longer since Big Show is champ.

However, it may not be delayed too long.

In the coming weeks, I think we may see a few things pan out:

  1. Sheamus Brogue kicks Big Show on an episode of SmackDown, causing Dolph Ziggler to cash in the MITB briefcase and win the WHC.
  2. Sheamus gets a rematch at Survivor Series and regains the WHC.
  3. Randy Orton gets back in the title picture and starts a feud with Big Show.
  4. There is a Fatal Four-Way elimination match at Surivor Series between Big Show, Sheamus, Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio. Dolph Ziggler cashes in the briefcase post-match and wins the WHC.

Whatever the option is, I will admit that although I was shocked and skeptical about Big Show winning, he has paid his dues and has earned a World Heavyweight Championship reign longer than 45 seconds.

Although his reign shouldn't be long, it was a good swerve by the WWE.

Where should the WHC picture go from here? Comment civilly below.
