Who said the SEC West was weak? The Bulldogs of Mississippi State dispatched the East Co-Champion South Carolina Gamecocks Friday, setting up this western division showdown with LSU.
The Tigers of Baton Rouge got back on the winning track with a win over Kentucky, most likely sending the Wildcats to the NIT.
Mississippi State has to have this win to save any chance of an NCAA Tournament bid.
LSU won both season meetings; blowing Miss State out in Baton Rouge in early January, and escaping with a three point win in Starkville about a month ago. In that three point win, LSU's Tasmin Mitchell went off for 41 points, and saved LSU from their 21 turnovers. The Tiger defense clamped down on the Bulldogs allowing just 31 percent shooting.
I think the Tigers got some of their swagger back after beating Kentucky for the second time, and are out to prove the two losses to end the regular season were just a blip. As long as LSU can stay away from turnovers they should dispatch Mississippi State.

Pick: LSU
