Temple-Xavier: Christmas Comes Early for Owls as They Take Down the Musketeers

The Temple Owls advanced to the Atlantic Ten tournament finals Friday with a 55-53 victory over the No. 19 Xavier Musketeers.

Dionte Christmas put up 20 points and three assists, while teammate Lavoy Allen was busy down low, grabbing 11 rebounds.

Derrick Brown and B. J. Raymond carried the Musketeers combining for 37 points and seven rebounds.

The Owls went to 21-11 on the season as they held Xavier to season lows in points and field goal percentage.

Xavier has now lost in the semifinals of the last three Atlantic 10 Conference Tournaments.

Saturday night, Temple will be looking for its second conference title in as many years when they battle the winner of the Dayton-Duquesne game.
