CM Punk! CM Punk! CM Punk!
This has been WWE's national anthem since the summer of 2011.
When the music hit, the fans jumped to their feet in adoration of their hero, the champion of the world and the voice of the voiceless.
The character, the Superstar, CM Punk has been on a rocket ride to the stars, fueled by the fire, the adoration of millions.
Now, all that merriment has been silenced and replaced by roars of boos and contempt...much to the delight of the "Best in the World".
You see, CM Punk does what he does and says what he says because, well frankly, he can!
Those who do not like it will have to stand it nonetheless. That is his greatest persona so far.
The Champ is much better at playing the bad guy anyway...
Check it out.
Whether it is movies, comics, video games, etc., villains are by far the most interesting characters.
Examples of awesome villains: Sylar (Heroes), Magneto (X-Men), Loki (Avengers), Sephiroth (Final Fantasy), Callisto (Xena: Warrior Princess) Voldemort (Harry Potter) etc.
These characters bring out the fun in whatever field they are in.
They can say whatever they want and do whatever they want. The destruction that follows is delightful and you get hooked immediately.
That's what's been happening to WWE TV lately. Fans are hooked on the current WWE championship scene. They want to know what will happen next. Who is the forerunner of this whole thing?
It isn't how you play the game. Fairness is overrated!
Rule No. 1 is: Just win baby!
With nothing holding him back anymore, CM Punk has the means and the will to achieve his goals. His relationship with Paul Heyman adds fuel to the fire and he will reach the one-year mark as WWE Champion.
Why so certain? Honestly, you think I would not stoop to any level to ensure I win?
You bet your last dollar I would. That's what I do. I always win!
CM Punk is the best in the world because he knows what he must do to come out on top and in the end, if he is remembered as one of the greatest villains of all time, it would be just as great as being labeled "greatest Superstar of all time".
Whether it be Punk or Orton or Miz, some people are just better at playing the bad guy than others.
Hulk Hogan was an incredible hero but such a magnificent villain that it overshadowed all the good deeds he'd ever done.
As a "face" saying "I'm the best in the world!" can come off as vain and hardly the stuff fairy tales are made of, right? But for a mean, old, evil "SOB" it is just another day.
Deep down, every Superstar has an idea of what kind of guy he wants to play. It's all an attitude after all.
CM Punk could very well be a small reflection of the type of guy Phil Brooks is. Confident, vain and arrogant yet direct and hard-working.
Pleasing everyone is hard sometimes but to naturally be able to piss everyone off and revel in it is a gift that keeps on giving.
The WWE Champion is a master, a natural. It should not stop so soon; I am hooked!
The CM Punk character is an attention magnet.
He is the WWE Champion, the pinnacle of success, the number one guy and the leader of the roster. It also makes him the reason to watch Monday Night Raw.
The reason being, who in the WWE will be the one to dethrone him down the road?
You see, all these villains may be cool and conniving, but the main reason they exist is to be defeated down the road. That is how stories go.
If evil ran the world unchallenged, then the world would be destroyed and everyone loses.
CM Punk is going to be so hated and his reign will go on and on until the day comes when some UNEXPECTED Superstar finally pins him one-two-three.
As of right now, though, he is the man, the guy to watch, and it would not be the case if he had remained a goodie two-shoes.
The poster child for all heroes is still John Cena and no matter how much he tried, CM Punk was second best.
We can't have that. The WWE Champion is numero uno, nothing less.
Ryback winning the WWE championship tomorrow? Puh-lease!
The great CM Punk will beat the "hell" out of him and show the world why he is the best in the world.
He will rule, without question and supported by his advocate, Paul Heyman.
His legacy continues to grow and his character develops further every day. It is a good time to be CM Punk.
It is a good time to be one's self and play the villain so well. I bet he's never felt so free in his entire life and that, my pets, makes all the difference.
