Olympic Hero Michael Phelps Suffers Crowd-Surfing Fail in Las Vegas
Guys, will someone pick Olympic gold-medal-winning champion and jack of all swimming trades Michael Phelps up off the ground?
Mr. Phelps continues to prove one's best years may in fact come in retirement. That is if you plan on retiring from life at 27 as an American hero for all your Olympic exploits.
The latest from the golden one is this video (h/t papUrazzi.com) featuring the 27-year-old attempting to crowd surf, only to find a one-way ticket to the ground.
TMZ reports Phelps "hit up XS nightclub Monday night, and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to crowd surf inside an inflatable raft."
Before you head to your local flower shop to send a get-well bouquet, the report issues the former swimmer is doing just fine.
This brings us to the proper way to crowd surf. It's done by yourself and without the assist of a device usually used in actual water.
And it's probably not a great idea to crowd surf in a Vegas nightclub, a place teeming with bros who wouldn't mind for a second letting go of a raft like this.
They wouldn't want to spill their Red Bull vodka on the ground.
Still, I am glad Phelps is getting along nicely in retirement. Most retirees just begin eating dinner at early bird specials and pick up golf.
He has taken up surfing as well.
