Oklahoma men's basketball head coach Lon Kruger has a big weekend ahead.
When he goes to the OU-Notre Dame football game, there's a good chance that he will not be alone.
Randle, a 6'9", 225-lb power forward, is ESPN's Class of 2013 No. 4 player in the nation.
Earlier this month, Adam Zagoria reported that Randle cut his list of schools to six: Kentucky, NC State, Florida, Texas, Kansas and OU.
Honestly, the Sooners look a little out of place among these schools. Oklahoma has struggled since Blake Griffin's departure in 2009. While they will be improved this year, OU is in a completely different CBB tier than the rest of these programs.
Rich DeCray of Crimsonandcreammachine.com weighed in on the Sooners chances of winning the Randle sweepstakes:
So where does that leave Oklahoma? Most likely on the outside looking in. Oklahoma is a mere 179.9 miles from Prestonwood, making it the closest school to home. If and only if Randle is looking at location for the sake of his family being able to come and see him as a selling point will Oklahoma have the upper hand, since they do not have the tournament history of some of the other programs.
The Sooner-Fighting Irish game will be an amazing event this weekend. Could Lon Kruger pull in a program-changing recruit or two at the same time?
Stay tuned...and Boomer Sooner!
