The Thursday, October 25 edition of TNA's Impact Wrestling began with the usual video recap of last week's show.
Hulk Hogan and Jeff Hardy were backstage discussing the TNA Heavyweight Championship match set for the main event on Impact Wrestling. Hogan wished Hardy well in defending his title.
Immediately after, Rob Van Dam was introduced to the ring to kickoff the show. Jeremy Borash and Todd Kenely were on commentary for the first hour, before giving it away to Mike Tenay and Tazz.
Match No. 1: Rob Van Dam vs. Zema Ion for the X-Division Championship.
Your winner via pinfall to retain the X-Division title: Rob Van Dam. Good start to the show, as Van Dam and Ion put on a decent match to open Impact Wrestling.
Match Rating: 3/5
After the match, Matt Morgan hit the ring and delivered a big boot to Van Dam. Joey Ryan takes Van Dam's title and holds it over him.
Christopher Daniels and Kazarian came out to the ring. Kazarian began to complain about their recent losses and that they are facing a controversy in TNA. Daniels bashed the TNA Tag Team champions Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez on the microphone. However, Guerrero and Hernandez interrupted, coming out to the ring.
Guerrero and Hernandez accepted their proposal for a rematch before both forced Daniels and Kazarian out the ring.
Hogan talked backstage with James Storm, Bully Ray, Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson. All four contenders made their plea as to why they should face Hardy for the title. Hogan eliminated Mr. Anderson first. After leaving the room, Aries and Mr. Anderson got into a brawl in the hallway.
Match No. 2: Robbie T. vs. Samoa Joe for the Television Championship.
Your winner via submission to retain the Television title: Samoa Joe. Robbie T dominated very early on, but that quickly ended when Joe put his trademark submission hold four consecutive times. A quicker match that saw limited action in the ring.
Match Rating: 2.5/5
Match No. 3: Mr. Anderson vs. Austin Aries.
Your winner via submission: Austin Aries. First solid match on Impact Wrestling. It appears TNA will be going with a feud between Aries and Mr. Anderson, after what developed on the show and this match.
Match Rating: 3.5/5
At the start of the second hour, Tenay and Taz took over the announcers' table.
Match No. 4: Miss Tessmacher vs. Tara for the Knockouts Championship.
Your winner via pinfall to retain the Knockouts title: Tara. Tara's on-screen boyfriend, Jessie Godderz, helped the champion earn the victory. This was a somewhat decent match that didn't seem to catch on.
Match Rating: 2.5/5
After the match, Brooke Hogan appeared in the entrance way. Brooke reminded Tara and Godderz that next week is Open Fight Night and a match between ODB and Jessie.
Bully Ray headed to the ring and discussed Devon's involvement with Aces and Eights. Ray demanded Devon to face him in the ring. Devon and the rest of Aces and Eights made their way into the ring through the crowd. Devon told Ray they are no longer nothing. He told Ray it has nothing to do with him.
Devon revealed that the whole formation of Aces and Eights had to do with Hogan. He continued to rant in the ring, telling Ray that TNA did not want him back and that there will be more damage done. Ray passionately spoke about their tag-team history throughout the years and how their relationship changed when Devon told Bully to forget about the wrestling fans.
After leaving the ring with Aces and Eights, Ray told Devon he was always behind his shadow. Ray went ahead and challenged Devon to a match next week.
Match No. 5: Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy for the Heavyweight Championship.
Your winner via pinfall to retain the Heavyweight title: Jeff Hardy. Impressive main event, as Angle and Hardy really displayed good chemistry in the ring.
Match Rating: 3.5/5
After the match, Aries attacked Hardy in the ring. Aries announced that at the Turning Point pay-per-view, he will face Hardy to get back his World Heavyweight title. Aries left the ring with the World Heavyweight belt, leaving Hardy with his own personalized one.
Backstage, Devon and the members of Aces and Eights attacked Angle as Impact Wrestling closed.
