NBA fans, there is a new sheriff in town.
Adam Silver will be the NBA's new commissioner, replacing David Stern as of Feb. 1, 2014.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports was the first to report the news.
Silver has worked with the league since 1992, but some fans are all asking the same question—is he the right man for the job?
Other fans might be celebrating Stern's eventual departure from office, but the legendary commissioner has been a great asset to the sport, and he's helped grow the popularity of basketball across the globe.
There is no doubt that Stern will go down as one of the most memorable commissioners of all time, across all sports.
But what about Silver? Will fans accept him as the new commissioner?
Watch assistant NBA editor Ethan Norof introduce you to the man we're all going to become a lot more familiar with sooner rather than later.
