Ozzie Guillen has been fired as the team's manager after one year.
And what a year it was. The Marlins entered the 2012 season with high hopes for both their team and their spectacular new ballpark, but they stumbled to a 69-93 finish under Guillen's watch. Along the way, Guillen found himself at the center of a handful of controversies, as is his custom.
Now that they've gotten rid of Guillen, the Marlins have their work cut out for them as far as hiring a new manager. There are some experienced managers out there just waiting to be hired, but the Marlins need a very specific kind of manager to handle their rebuilding process.
In addition, the Marlins have to work around the fact that candidates won't exactly be lining up to be the next manager of a lousy team with a questionable future.
In the above video, I kick around a few names the Marlins could target to be their next manager. Some belong to managers who have been there and done that. Others belong to guys who are waiting for their shot.
