The San Francisco Giants are on their way to the World Series, bringing with them an amazing support system. For MVP candidate Buster Posey, that means being joined by a woman who has been by his side since high school, wife Kristen.
Arguably the best player in the Majors likes to keep as private life as he can, which is hard when you consider the accolades and following bestowed to him by fans and media.
Posey comes into the World Series following one of the best seasons in what is still a very young career.
He hit .336 with 24 home runs and produced a 7.2 WAR according to ESPN. There very well may be an MVP award in his near future, which is warranted considering the job he does with the pitching staff as well.
But his greatest joy in life has to be the family by his side.
CSN Bay Area reported back in August of 2011 news that deserved even more celebration than what transpired in San Francisco Monday night.
That is when Buster and his wife, Kristen, welcomed twins into the world, Lee Dempsey Posey and Addison Lynn Posey.
The high-school sweethearts have themselves a budding family and have since enjoyed one of the most promising careers in the Majors.
At that time, Posey was coming back from a May, 2011 injury that left him with a broken fibula. As The Huffington Post reminds us, the catcher was a proud but protective dad, who doesn't see the catcher position in his kid's futures.
Can we suggest golf?
Now onto a week that may have the family beaming well into the winter, a chance to get dad another World Series ring.
