Ivy League Football: Previewing the Matchups of Week 7
While conference play has produced a vast array of dramatic results, Week 7 features many key battles that will continue to shape and reshape the conference standings. This weekend has a thriller in the making, especially with Princeton and Cornell facing off in Ithaca.
Princeton (4-2, 3-0) vs. Cornell (3-3, 1-2), Saturday 12:30 p.m. ET
A lot remains on the line for this Princeton team as it takes on the incredible passing game of the Big Red. Harvard quarterback Colton Chapple torched the Tiger secondary last weekend and Jeff Matthews looks to do the same, if not more. Princeton will be playing with its sights on an Ivy League title, while Cornell hopes to turn its season around.
Yale (2-4, 1-2) vs. Columbia (1-5, 0-3), Saturday 12:30 p.m. ET
While Yale hopes to build momentum after its crushing win over Penn, Columbia just wants that first win against an Ancient Eight opponent in fear of settling into that last place position in the conference. The running games of both squads will be on display this Saturday.
Brown (4-2, 1-2) vs. Penn (2-4, 2-1), Saturday 1:00 p.m. ET
Brown's secondary was incredible last weekend against Jeff Matthews and Cornell. The Bears hope this week that they can take Penn's offense completely out of the game. Penn, still suffering embarrassment after getting destroyed by Yale last weekend, hopes to turn things around.
Harvard (5-1, 2-1) vs. Dartmouth (4-2, 2-1), Saturday 5:00 p.m. ET
The Crimson saw their title dreams slowly crumble last weekend in the fourth quarter against Princeton. However, Harvard must ignore its emotions and return to business as usual as it takes on a Dartmouth squad that is slowly getting back into peak form.
