Knicks vs. Nets: Which Is New York's Team?

The Knicks suddenly have competition for the title of No. 1 basketball team in New York City as the Nets prepare to tip-off in the newly built Barclays Center. 

Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler are looking to lead the veteran-laden Knicks deep into the playoffs. Meanwhile, Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and newly acquired All-Star Joe Johnson will attempt to make the Nets the most improved team in the NBA.

But, which squad is New York's team? The Knicks represent the history of New York City basketball while the Brooklyn Nets represent the new wave of hipness in The Big Apple. 

We caught up with current and former NBA players from both teams to have them weigh in. Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose and Shaquille O'Neal also offered their opinions on this hot topic.
