Mock drafts deem worth-less
We draft fewer words than most
Wait spiteful comments

So now comes time for one more 2009 NFL Mock Draft mock preview. With the draft about a month away, the countdown has already begun here at the Bleacher Report.

Reading, listening, and watching endless mock draft coverage on every sports talk-radio Web-blog makes us sick of April's fool Mel Kiper and tired of every wannabe Todd McShay. Non-stop SportsCenter spats for each of their projected top 10. Good thing we got this soon when we did. We'll compare the two soon. Oh how the mighty will fall.

We see the same reasons why the Lions draft Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford with No.1 pick. The can't go wrong quarterback for an infamous team that did everything wrong last season. We see more of the same reasons why the Lions draft Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry and pair him with Ernie Sims for a formidable linebacker corps. Both viable options and address legitimate Lion needs.

As football fans, every year we dread the draft, never-knowing who our team will pick. Will our team draft a bust or score a Pro-Bowl type player? Will the players our team passes on turn out out to be the next Matt "Matty Ice" Ryan and will our team trade first round draft picks?

We'll save our more in-depth, opinionated, team draft previews for another article. The following slides depict what college players will be taken in the first round. Some fact and backed by stats, others partly made-up reasons backed by our incredible insight and sports intellect..

We express our opinions in the traditional haiku three line format— the first with five syllables, the second line with seven syllables and the third line with five syllables. Take a deep breath.

Let's hope our haiku's capture the essence of each football prospect in this years draft. We'll do the best we can with our mocking mocking 2009 NFL Draft first round Haiku Bonaza. But we're sure you can do much better so give it a shot in the comments.

Feel free to leave your own Haiku predictions on who your favorite team will draft in the first round. Use whatever format you're most comfortable and draft you own haiku. Based on who we think other teams think other teams will draft, guess who you think we think from our draft haikus. Or don't, if it all sounds confusing and you hate reading and writing poetry.

We'll give our picks at the end of the first and second rounds. The rest of the first round will be coming soon. Enjoy!

So without further ado...
