We were wondering when a shakeup in the Heisman race might come, and we got one in Week 8. Oh, did we ever.

Our two Heisman front-runners battled it out in Morgantown, West Virginia, and the result was rather one-sided.

And while we have a new No. 1 in the Heisman rankings, the rest of the top five is very much up for grabs. Narrowing down the list was as tough as it’s ever been, and there are some worthy names currently outside the top five. I’m sure the comments will showcase just that.

A handful of big-time games are set for Week 9. Before we close the book and begin to look ahead, however, let’s take a look at the updated—and much different-looking, I might add—Heisman power rankings.
