Auburn is now playing for pride and for the future.
Rumors will be abundant this week about Gene Chizik's future as the Auburn head coach. It's hard to defend his job at this point.
After losing the time of possession battle in a big way in the first half. Auburn ended up winning the category.

Auburn had plenty of opportunities to win this game. James Franklin made some very questionable decisions.
Still, Auburn could not get out of its own way.
The offense shot itself in the foot multiple times.
How does Gene Chizik defend his job with this sort of history on his back?
Auburn becomes 1st team ever in AP Poll era to start 1-6 within 2 years of winning a national title.— Jon Solomon (@jonsol) October 20, 2012
The play calling was horrendous and Auburn could not produce anything offensively.
There was missed opportunities all over the field.
This game should definitely determine Scot Loeffler's future as offensive coordinator. It may also determine Gene Chizik's future as head coach. Auburn will likely go winless in the SEC this year.
Auburn will fall to 1-6 in 2012. Vanderbilt improves to 3-4.
This loss is much like every loss Auburn has had this year. Poor offensive effort and can't capitlize on opponent's mistakes.
Auburn stopped on fourth-down. Vanderbilt will win.
It's good to see C.J. Uzomah stepping up in place of Phillip Lutzenkirchen. Showing some good hands on this drive.
Auburn in the hurry-up here. Two quick passes and C.J. Uzomah did a good job of getting out of bounds to stop the clock.
The play is under further review but I don't see how this play is reversed. That is the third Vanderbilt turnover forced by the Auburn defense today.
Auburn gets the ball back with just over two minutes remaining.
Hard to believe this stat.
In 25 fourth-quarter possessions this year, Auburn has yet to score a touchdown.— Aaron Brenner (@wareagleextra) October 20, 2012
If Auburn does not force a turnover, this game may be over, folks.
The speed sweep has rarely worked this year. Why go to that play on a third down with your backup QB in? It makes zero sense.
In a game where James Franklin has made multiple coaching mistakes, Auburn is being outcoached.
I do not understand this play-calling. It's hard to fathom.
This drive here may determine Scot Loeffler's immediate future, in my opinion.
This offense has gone full-circle since 2008.
Auburn needs 20 yards to match the offensive effort in 2008 that got Tony Franklin fired...both Auburn teams scored 13 pts— Brian Harbach (@HarbachCFB) October 20, 2012
Big stop by Auburn.
James Franklin got a little too cute there. Great discipline by the Auburn defense.
Vanderbilt is 2-of-4 on fourth down in this game. With Auburn's offensive problems, I may try to pin Auburn deep with a pooch punt here.
This may be two-down territory for Vanderbilt. Too close to punt, too long to kick a FG.
After a big pass, Vandy is nearly back in field goal position. That coverage mistake was on Demetruce McNeal.
Field goal attempt is good. Auburn 13, Vanderbilt 17. 9:55 — 3rd Quarter
