Alright, Michael Phelps made a mistake.  Is this mistake big enough to end his career?

I don't think so.

The kid has the world record for most gold medals, but is that enough to make people forget his mistake?

When Phelps ended the Olympics, he was a hero, a legend, and an American icon. He won eight gold medals and added so much excitement to the Olympics, especially his relay. Phelps was living the life with endorsements from Speedo, and all kids wanted to be just like him.

But then a devastating photo came out.  This photo was disturbing to America.

So, should he join the Olympics in 2012?

I personally think he should.  He needs to prove himself all over again.  He has already nationally apologized and acknowledged that he made a mistake.

Still, he is still a huge part of 2008, and I believe that everyone deserves a second chance.

But many think he should be done.  He let America down but he should be able to redeem himself.

He should also stop and let America forget his mistake.
