Sherdog.com is reporting that Fedor Emelianenko may join Affliction. No, Affliction is not a racy thriller, it is actually a MMA organization.

Fedor’s brother, Aleksander may also join the Affliction roster, as well as Matt Lindland. Other fighters rumored to join Affliction are Andrei Arlovski, Josh Barnett and Ben Rothwell.

Affliction and Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions are purportedly joining forces. The first event, according to Sherdog.com, may take place June 28th in Las Vegas. The promotion may also land a deal with HBO, according to multiple internet sources.

Sherdog is reporting that Fedor never had officially signed on with M-1 Global. He had only agreed to it in a letter of intent. Before Fedor can officially become a free agent he would have to return the 1.5 million dollar signing bonus.

Fedor is also reportedly being strongly pursued by K-1 DREAM. Rumors are circulating of a Fedor vs. Cro Cop rematch to take place at K-1 Dynamite at the end of the year.

DREAM 4 Rumor Mill

Mirko Cro Cop Filpovic will be fighting Sergei Kharitonov at DREAM 4 which is scheduled for some time in June. The location of the event is also not set, as it could take place in Korea.

Kharitonov is a strong opponent with a 15-3 record in MMA. Kharitonov trains with the Russian Top Team, Fedor’s former team. Kharitonov defeated Semmy Schilt in a blood bath at Pride Critical Countdown on June 20, 2004.

  1. Sounds like Affliction is picking up some really solid fighters. Fighters that the UFC either couldn't get, or weren't smart enough to resign.

  2. Sounds that way doesnt it? Well, you have to come to the UFC sooner or later. Affliction can sign all the fighters that are out there but they have to come to UFC for the unification titles. Somebody is going to pull down some major bucks for all this.
