NASCAR Camping World Truck Series owner Billy Ballew was arrested last Wednesday at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for driving under the influence.
Ballew was driving on the Atlanta Motor Speedway property where he owns a condo, when he was pulled over. He had a mixed drink in the car and refused a breathalyzer test.
Ballew said that he only had one drink and that he was "100 percent sure that it will be dropped. It was only one drink. I was not drunk. I was on Atlanta Motor Speedway property. I was not on the highway."
He was booked at the jail around 7:15 Wednesday night and was released after posting a $1,506 bond.
He did attend Saturday's American Commercial Lines 200 where his driver Kyle Busch in the No. 51 Toyota took the checkered flag. Ballew also owns the No. 15 with driver Shane Sieg.
One can only hope that the Georgia Judiciary system will throw the book at Ballew to show that no one is above the law, and that drunk driving is a serious matter.
