The inability for the New York Yankees to score runs in the playoffs finally caught with them, as the Detroit Tigers swept the Bronx Bombers with an 8-1 win in Game 4 of the ALCS.

It did not seem to matter who was on the mound for the Tigers.

Max Scherzer pitched a gem in the final game with 10 strikeouts in only 5.2 innings. He allowed only one run on two hits. However, the entire staff deserves credit.

The Yankees were only able to muster six runs in the four-game series, only one of which was scored prior to the ninth inning.

Meanwhile, the Tigers hit four home runs in Game 4, including two from Jhonny Peralta. They hope to continue this momentum in the World Series against either the San Francisco Giants or St. Louis Cardinals.
