The next step on the Rockies' offseason to-do list is interviewing Jason Giambi for the vacant managerial position. Though a date has still not been set, the Rockies will meet with Giambi before setting up formal interviews with any candidates from outside the organization. Giambi, 41, will be the second and last in-house candidate to get a formal interview. Last week, bench coach Tom Runnells spent two full days interviewing. Giambi, who has been a bench player for the Rockies, has never coached before, at any level, but would retire as a player if he had a shot at managing.
