Big East Tourney Preview
When: Mar. 10-14
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York City
Outlook: And just when you thought March couldn’t get any better. All 16 teams from the Big East will make the trip to Madison Square Garden this year.
With Louisville, Connecticut, and Pittsburgh all in the running for No. 1 seeds, there should be plenty of fireworks in New York City once again.
Providence. The Friars have to beat the winner of Cincinnati/DePaul on Wednesday and then likely beat No. 1 seed Louisville the following day to lock up an NCAA tournament birth.
Syracuse. The Orange might be the hottest team in the Conference. Cuse is on a four-game win streak, beating opponents by an average of 22.5 ppg during that stretch.
Expect the Orange to give Connecticut a run for their money in a quarterfinal match on Thursday night.
St. John's. Playing on their home court, the Red Storm could do some damage.
Remember, St. John's has already beat Georgetown twice this season.
Pittsburgh should cut down the nets and claim the number one overall seed in this years NCAA tournament.
Levance Fields and Dejuan Blair will cut down the nets in Madison Square Garden and then get ready for a championship run.
