TCU Manages Turmoil on Way to 5-1 Start
Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

TCU’s route to a 5-1 record in the first half of the football season probably isn’t the pathway anyone predicted. Starting quarterback Casey Pachall withdrew from school to enter a drug and alcohol treatment facility, and injuries sidetracked top running backs Waymon James and Matthew Tucker. TCU has true freshman tackle Aviante Collins trying to protect redshirt freshman quarterback Trevone Boykin, while preseason all-Big 12 defensive end Stansly Maponga is iffy from one week to the next because of an injury.
