Well, L.T. has made his decision on going hard or going home. He has picked go home. Now, if you don’t know what the heck I am talking about in saying “going hard or going home,” then check out this article.
Now how is this going to help the Chargers this year? Well, with Darren Sproles in the mix, the Chargers could have one of the most unstoppable rushing attacks in the NFL. They look to finish eighth place in rushing. Chargers President Dean Spanos was happy that L.T. is back.
“This is a good day for the Chargers and for Chargers fans,” said Spanos.
“It was important to me to get this done so L.T. could continue his career here in San Diego where he means so much to our team, our fans, and our community. The alternative was just unthinkable. He belongs in San Diego.”
I really don’t know about the terms of the deal but it looks to me that on one of the sources he signed a three-year deal. General Manager A.J. Smith was very satisfied that the future Hall of Fame running back has returned to the team. L.T. is also happy staying.
“The way I’m looking at it, L.T. has helped us on the field and now he’s gone a step further and he’s helped us off the field,” Smith told us.
“I’m just happy that it worked out. I felt comfortable that it had a chance. We wanted him back; he wanted to come back. Everything was as smooth as it can be in negotiations.”
Even though he had a season-low 292 carries for 1,110 yards and 11 touchdowns, including 3.8 yards per carry average, L.T. looks to bounce back in 2009.
Good luck, L.T. Going home was a good choice and it seems like all the Chargers fans will be satisfied with your comeback.
