Goal.com reports that Manchester United defender and captian Nemanja Vidić could be set for a move over the January transfer window, following the news of a £33 million bid from big-spending Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
However, the Russian club has denied that they are in talks with Vidic—stating that the information is "groundless" and that "the club will inform the public about all new purchases in due time" (per Give Me Football).
Lille defender Lucas Digne is believed to be a transfer target for Sir Alex Ferguson this winter, with the 19-year-old Digne welcoming interest from Premier League giants United, as well as from Chelsea about a potential move (per Click Manchester).
Despite his age, Digne already has experience in both French domestic competition and the UEFA Champions League.

Talksport reports that the Red Devils are interested in the 19-year-old striker, though with a plethora of attacking options already available at United, it would seem like a bizarre move for the Premier League giants to make.
Federico Macheda appears all but set to leave Manchester United this January, after his agent, Giovanni Bia, encouraged Sir Alex Ferguson to let the youngster leave Old Trafford in search of regular first-team football.
"I hope [Manchester United] understand the situation and let him leave in January, because it makes no sense to keep a 21-year-old on the bench", said Bia (per ItaSportPress, h/t Football Italia).
Macheda has not played for Manchester United in competition so far this season.
After a tumultuous summer transfer window that saw rumors of him leaving the club, United winger Nani is again the subject of further transfer speculation, with the Portuguese international reportedly attracting interest from AC Milan.

The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea defender Ashley Cole could be set to spark a transfer war between Manchester United and Manchester City, after reportedly failing to agree to terms on a new contact with the European champions.
Paris St-Germain recently pulled out of a move for Cole, leaving the Manchester clubs to battle it out for the England international, who is believed to want at least a two-year deal.
