Shaquille O'Neal is NBA's Biggest Cry Baby
I have been thinking about writing this article for some time. I wanted to wait until the NBA season progressed a little more, but I think it is about time to get it out. The NBA, of all the professional sports, has the biggest baby.
It is not Terrell Owens in football or even Alex Rodriguez in baseball. The NBA has earned the right to house the gigantic immature infant.
His name?
Why Shaquille O'Neal of course.
Now, I must say Shaq at one point in his career was dominant. But he often reminds me of Phil Jackson, who is an average coach that always had great players. The same could be said about Shaq: An oversized center with a great supporting cast. But I have seen a trend I don't like.
Why must he bash every team he leaves in some form or another? What kind of sportsmanship is he showing?
Let's compile the list. So far Shaq has played for the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and now Phoenix Suns.
In every team he has had a great or prime guard. Orlando—Penny Hardaway,L.A.—Kobe Bryant, Miami—Dwayne Wade, Phoenix—Steven Nash.
See the trend of great guards all around him? So why does he feel when he gets moved or traded that the team he just left is that much inferior?
Evidently the teams aren't the problem. He trash talked Kobe, and now he's giving some attitude towards Wade and former Heat coach Stan Van Gundy (although they were both in the wrong).
He can't rap, can't act, and the only reason he has been in the NBA so long is his size. He has zero athletic skill. Whenever he has been pinned against a decent or great center, he comes up short.
What gives him the right to criticize any former team of his? If it was not for his supporting cast he would have never won ANY titles. He made it to the All-Star game this year and that was a joke. He has become a name that whether he is having a good season or a bad one, he will still be considered for the All-Star game because he is Shaq.
Being awarded the MVP at the All-Star game was nothing more than a media ploy to reunite the lovers of Kobe and Shaq. It made me sick just thinking about it.
Recently talking trash about a former coach we could dismiss, because in the end they both handled things incorrectly. But not helping a former teammate like Dwayne Wade when you knock him down, standing over him like some kind of 100-year old bully—that's a lack of class.
Shaq's career was in a downward spiral, and if it weren't for Wade, Shaq would have hit the bottom. Wade gave an old man a title.
Shaq gets the award for biggest cry baby. I wonder when he leaves Phoenix what trash is going to come out of his mouth about Nash.
Such a disappointment to hear of his behavior and everyone should dismiss it.
