Manchester United: Top 5 Fan Blogs and Websites

Here are the top five Manchester United fan websites and blogs dedicated to discussing all issues related to the greatest, most supported club in the history of the beautiful game.

Stretty News

Despite being existent for only a short amount of time, Stretty News publishes content from a multitude of people connected by their attachment to Manchester United.

Boasting an assortment of realistic news that seek to challenge traditional views of the club, this blog has created quite a formidable image of itself by providing opinionated yet analytical news about the Red Devils. The articles are coherently written and discussed at length to provide a complete, unadulterated picture.

Stretford End

"The Website of Dreams," Stretford End is a meticulously planned and executed statistical website geared towards United fans.

The site provides complete statistics ranging from player info to lively trivia.

Red Rants

A personal favorite of mine, Red Rants really moves beyond basic reporting by displaying a profound understanding of the game.

There are two areas of the website that stands out—The Blog and The Tactics Board. The blog provides detailed, insightful articles written in a coherent manner, while the tactical commentary is performed in an almost Gary Neville-esque level.

The Republik of Mancunia

Republik of Mancunia describes itself as:

There is intended to be as much realism and statistical evidence in the writing as possible, whilst leaving some room for the passion and excitement supporting the club brings about.

Created by a season ticket holder, Scott, way back in 2006, Republik of Mancunia has regular updates and a ton of engaged followers participating in lively discussion.Over the years, RoM has established quite a cult following amongst its supporters.

Bleacher Report

As a featured columnist at Bleacher Report (b/r), readers might be keen to point out some sort bias involved in placing this website here. However, its inclusion is not without merit.

Articles published on b/r undergo a screening and editing process resulting in well-written, well-rounded articles that demonstrate an understanding of the game, the tactics involved and evoke a lot of emotions. (Check out Terry Carroll's page for one).

What instigated me (and a host of other writers I know) towards b/r is that they had a developed, proven platform for football fans to express themselves. Furthermore, almost no other website engages the fans actively and provides a discussion platform for readers and writers alike.

Are there any sites or blogs that I missed out? Do you think some other blog needs to get a special mention? Please leave your comments, and perhaps I can incorporate the suggestions and expand this article as well.
