The Program: Will Jadeveon Clowney and Gamecocks DL Stand Up to Gators' Power?
The Gamecocks are coming off of a physical beating at the hands of the LSU Tigers. They don't get much of a chance to lick their wounds as they go from Death Valley to the Swamp in just a week's time. There are plenty of angles to take in this game: The biggest star is Jadeveon Clowney and after the South Carolina defense got outmuscled by LSU, can it get off the mat against a tough Gators attack?
On offense the Gamecocks and Florida are very similar; both teams would rather be running than throwing the ball in order to win. Jeff Driskel and Connor Shaw will both be in the pistol look, pushing to get their running back the ball, trying to pick up yards where they can, and ultimately whichever quarterback makes the fewest mistakes will come out the winner.
In this ball game, the real tale of the tape will be which team is the last one standing. If you're looking for cute defense and a lot of points, take your behind out west. This SEC battle, like LSU-Florida and South Carolina-LSU, is bound to be a slugfest. The Gators already outmuscled the team that outmuscled South Carolina, but we'll see who can get the job done when the Gamecocks and Gators meet for first place in the SEC East.
It's chalk talk on The Program, and that means we've got everything you need, folks!
Update: Josh Kendall at The State reports that Marcus Lattimore might be out for this game.
Marcus Lattimore (hip) may not play against Gators, Spurrier said. Kenny Miles expected to start.

If Lattimore cannot go, that's a huge blow to the Gamecocks chances of slugging this one out against Florida.
