The U.S. defeated Guatemala on Tuesday night 3-1 and with the win will advance to the final stage of CONCACAF qualifying.
The U.S. survived a dicey start going behind 1-0 within the first five minutes, but then put on an impressive offensive display getting goals from Carlos Bocanegra and two from Clint Dempsey.
Goals - Ruiz 4', Bocanegra 10', Dempsey 18', Dempsey 37'
U.S. - Howard, Cherundolo, Cameron, Bocanegra, Parkhurst, Williams, Bradley, Zusi (Edu '81), Johnson (Corona '89), Dempsey, Gomez (Kljestan '65).
Hit me up @AmerTouchline
'94 - And it's a final. The U.S. has won 3-1 and will advance to the hexagonal.
Well done, boys.
'92 - Dempsey book for his Carlos Ruiz impression.

'92 - It's been a dicey group stage of World Cup qualifying, but it now looks assured that the U.S. is through.

89' - Joe Corona for EJ. Corona is now cap-tied to the U.S.
'88 - decent hit by Kljestan, but that needed to be far post
'82 - U.S. happy to just keep the ball. Guatemala needs to change to higher pressure.
'81 - not that they need it now, but the U.S. attack was much more vibrant with Gomez up top.
Jamaica just scored in the other game making it 3-1 Jamaica over Antigua. Guatemala better get going soon or they're out.

'78 - Zusi replaced by Maurice Edu. Zusi had a fantastic game - can almost understand why the KC fans were booing, but it appeared as if they were booing their local star, not JK.
'76 - TV announcers keep talking about recent dramatic comebacks and collapses.
Stop jinxing the U.S.
'75 - Fantastic run by Zusi, but it doesn't come to anything.
'73 - Have already said it three or four times, but the progression in EJ's first touch since his last stint with the USMNT is remarkable.
'70 - Bradley clearly taken out in the box - NO CALL.Third missed call.

'66 - Howard with a bad spill, but Cameron was there to clean it up.
'65 - Sacha Kljestan in for Gomez.
At halftime, I would have agreed, but Gomez has been fantastic this half.
Fire up the JK rants.
Antigua and Barbuda have just scored in the other game. Now 2-1 Jamaica, but Guatemala would now be back in the hexagonal as things stand.
'62 - EJ's work with back to pressure tonight has been fantastic. Much better than just a few years back.
'60 - Klinsmann made the right move putting Boca back in the center of the defense, but Parkhurst has been unremarkable at left back and lost possession in dangerous spots more than a few times.
'56 - and it's Gomez again with a great service to Dempsey who can't get on the end of the ball.
'55 - EJ misses another good chance after a spectacular Gomez-Cherundolo combo. Gomez MUCH more active this half.
'54 - great Zusi to Gomez combo. Centered for EJ who whiffs circa EJ 2008.
'53 - game is already getting chippy. Hold onto your hats. It's going to be a bumpy final 35 minutes.
'51 - Williams down clutching his knee.
Now walking it off.
'49 - nice save by Howard. Catching the ball was vital - Guatemalan attacker was lurking.
'47 - Shocker. U.S. defense beaten by a diagonal run.
