ESPN NBA Analyst Ric Bucher Talks Out Of His A$$
As a sports fan I watch ESPN for most if not all of my sports highlights. I never take anything they say as "sports news" because if I want real "sports news" I'll go elsewhere.
I see ESPN as the Fox News of sports, they love sensationalism as evident by all the Terrell Owens and A-Rod they shove down our throats day in and day out.
One thing that ESPN loves to do is bring in their "analysts" and "experts" to further talk about whatever current story they are covering. I have no problem with this because usually I use that time to go drop a deuce or something that is more productive than listening to Mark Schlereth talk about how much he would like to kill Terrell Owens.
Now I have no problems with opinions and I usually try and avoid saying someone has a wrong opinion because opinions are not facts. They are thoughts put together by gathering facts.
Enter one Ric Bucher, "ESPN Senior NBA Analyst." Now with a title like that you would think the guy knows what he is talking about, well you would be wrong, dead wrong.
I have come to the conclusion that this guy talks right out of his ass. We all should have come to the same conclusion when he verbally attacked Jazz-Fans-Are-Mormon-And/7Yun_6VYHUyKzLL4GQiaxg.cspx">Mormons last year during the NBA playoffs.
"It is the most intimidating place to play because of the configuration of the arena... and, let's be honest... they are Mormon. They are in Salt Lake, and there's nothing up there. You gotta smile and be happy all the time... and this is the one opportunity for people to get vicious in a fair arena. And the fans seem to take full advantage of it."
Easy there Bucher!
Well today he continued talking out of his ass when asked about Dwyane Wade for MVP. Look I know Wade is not going to win the MVP award I have accepted this as fact and I am fine with it. And yes it is fair to say I am a little bias towards Wade because I live in Miami.
However...
I'm not a dumb fan that blindly follows his team and thinks everyone else sucks, that is not me.
Bucher however can not cover his fandom for Kobe Bryant when he goes on TV. Bucher was asked if Wade was his front-runner for MVP. His response "no."
Okay I have no problem with that...Then he was asked why and let me paraphrase here.
"Wade just does not show up to those big games. He struggles against those big game type of match-ups...teams just don't gear up for Wade the way they do against Lebron and Kobe."
WHAT?!
Bucher do you even watch basketball? Or do you only watch the games ESPN televises because obviously you haven't seen many Miami Heat games?
So Wade does not "show up" to the big games? I'm going to use that as Bucher saying that he doesn't show up against the Cavs and Lakers the two teams Bucher loves.
Lets go ahead and look at the numbers then, in four games versus the Cavs Wade averaged: 29 ppg, 10.3 assists, four steals, and six rebounds.
Now we all know Bucher is a Laker butt-boy so lets see how Wade did against them. In two games versus the Lakers Wade averaged: 31 ppg, five and a half rebounds, six assists, two and a half steals, and two blocks.
Now to be fair the Heat went 2-4 against both those teams but that is not the point. The point is that Wade DID show up for those games. Hell he was the only reason Miami was even close in any of those games.
So to finish off this non-sensical rant I'm going to talk directly to Ric Bucher.
Bucher, buddy, I'm sure your a nice guy and I'm sure you work really hard. Next time look at some facts before you go saying that Wade is not a big game player. The guy has been a big game player all the way back to his days in Marquette. Have you already forgotten about the 2006 NBA Finals?
Oh by the way...The Mormons are still pissed.
