By now, you or someone you know has whispered of a CM Punk-Stone Cold Steve Austin match taking place in the near future.
Those whispers are no longer whispers. Rumors are flying high as we head towards the end of 2012.
What better place for CM Punk and Steve Austin to go toe-to-toe than at WrestleMania 29?
We saw the return of The Rock at WrestleMania 28 in Miami earlier this year, and Steve Austin could be the next legend to lace up his boots once again.
On October 30, WWE will be releasing the WWE '13 video game, which prominently features Austin.
In a recent face-to-face interview conducted by Jim Ross, Austin and Punk talked firsthand on what it would be like if they squared off.
A confident Austin said, "The only reason why that belt is sitting in your lap is because I haven't tried to take it."
Punk replied, "A match with Stone Cold would be just another 'W' in the win column."
With WWE trying to push its video game release, and as the official sponsor of WWE Hell in a Cell in two weeks, don't be surprised if we see an appearance from Austin himself.
On the October 15 episode of Monday Night Raw, Punk is to pick which opponent he will face inside of the cell in two weeks: Ryback or John Cena.
Could the glass shatter on CM Punk's night in Nashville? You just never know.
With Vince McMahon in tow and Jim Ross at ringside, this could be a night to remember, just like old times.
I expect nothing less than to see Austin inside of the WWE squared circle in the coming weeks. But a match at WrestleMania 29? That is a tough one to take on.
