NFL Fanbases That Should (And Shouldn't) Hit the Panic Button

Noted author Douglas Adams famously cautioned, "Don't Panic!" That's good advice...sometimes.

Some teams and fanbases are watching their aspirations of postseason glory begin to circle the drain. The Philadelphia Eagles, for one, can't seem to avoid close games. Michael Vick is a benevolent turnover machine, giving away the ball like he's Bill Gates dropping off one of those giant endowment checks.

Other teams are on the verge of trouble as well. The Dallas Cowboys squandered multiple opportunities to beat an ailing Baltimore team in their own building in Week 6. Drops, miscues and incompetence permeate that team, and not just at the quarterback position.

One of the league's perennial powers—the Pittsburgh Steelers—finds itself on the proverbial ropes early. The Steelers have been ravaged by injuries at running back and on defense. Those losses are significant and difficult to overcome, with or without Ben Roethlisberger
