Could Max Kellerman be Mike Francesa's New Sidekick?

ESPN released a statement this morning announcing that ESPN 1050 in New York and host Max Kellerman have mutually parted ways.

Brian Powell of Awful Announcing is reporting that rumors are swirling. These rumors include the possibility that Kellerman is about to join Mike Francesa as his new sidekick and replacement for Chris Russo.

Personally, I think it would be a good fit. Francesa desperately needs a sidekick, and Kellerman is one of the better sports talk radio hosts in the business. Kellerman already is in New York and has a strong familiarity with the local sports scene. He has a younger following—something that could boost Francesa's strong NYC ratings even more.

I'm not sure how the two would fit together, since Francesa is a strong-headed know-it-all, and Max actually knows his stuff and provides facts to back it up. But I am very interested to see the two together, and I'm the first to admit that the addition of Kellerman, former "Around the Horn" host, would bring me back to "Mike'd Up" each weekday.
