New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Preview and Predictions
The New Orleans Saints are still feeling the repercussions of their so-called bounty scandal, so it might seem fitting that the Aaron Kromer era will end in a stadium with a pirate ship in its north end zone.
New Orleans (1-4) managed a win at home against San Diego before heading into its Week 6 bye. Quarterback Drew Brees has struggled early, clearly missing the guidance of offensive-minded head coach Sean Payton. Payton and offensive coordinator Joe Vitt are serving suspensions for their respective roles in the well-documented "BountyGate" scandal.
Vitt will return to the Saints in Week 8.
Tampa Bay (2-3) seems to be improving with every week under the tutelage of first-year head coach Greg Schiano. The team has enjoyed production on offense from free-agent acquisition Vincent Jackson and rookie running back Doug Martin, but it's not all smiles on offense. Josh Freeman, who recently received a contract extension, is among the bottom feeders in completion percentage.
